1. Are You a Parenting Expert?
Would you be brave enough to do this? Justin Bieber is still just a teenager. The pop superstar, who travels with his mother on tour, has to follow the rules just like everyone else. The 16-year-old singer revealed on The Graham Norton Show that his mother recently shut off his mobile phone plan as punishment, revealing, “We got into an argument about something stupid, and she was like, ‘Give me the phone’, and I was like, ‘No’, so she just went and canceled it.”
Bieber added, “Mom travels with me. We argue yes, I think every parent and son argue, but I love my mom. I think it’s good she travels with me but sometimes I need a break because I’m with her 24/7, but I love her, I like being with her.”
I LOVE this story! Would you ever just cancel your child’s cell? Well I will one up you and admit my teens don’t have cell phones. (And they tell me regularly that they are the only 2 teens on the planet without phones.)
Now while we are discussing parenting…how about Facebook? Have you checked what your children and their friends are posting? I recently called a parent to say his daughter had pictures of herself at a party drinking beer…oh and she’s only 15!!!!!!! Am I crazy for checking on my kids online activity or are most parents crazy for not caring?
This media story opens the door for so many radio interviews from parenting experts. Can YOU create something from this event?
Email the Wayne and Jayne show…we love having parenting help for our hockey-mom demo.
2. Catch Them by Surprise:
Barry Cohen knows how to do a great interview. He pitched a local radio show about being on the air. And when the radio host heard Barry was from Jersey he asked Barry to be on the radio to give his thoughts on “Real Housewives of New Jersey”. Barry accepted, promising to make it fun and entertaining for his listeners…but without telling the host how he planned to respond on the air. Take a listen to what Barry did!
