Today is family day in BC and it turns out we are the only province in Canada celebrating. Everyone else in Canada and the USA will be celebrating next Monday.
A financial adviser from Vancouver got a ton of publicity today saying that it was crazy that BC is esentially getting 2 long weeks in a row. He says it's a waste of money and we should take the following weekend off instead of this weekend by ourselves.
Make perfect sense doesn't it?
Now what I love about this story is he took the initiative to reach out and let the media know about his views. Then they jumped all over it. It would never get publicity on any other day…except for today.
Good on you sir for grabbing some publicity and finding a bunch of people who support you! I hope we get it changed. Now the only bright side to having today off was that it was the monday after superbowl…so the people who celebrated a bit too much didn't have to take a sick day.
