Does format matter for your next radio interview?

What is going on in radio??? Typically when you attempt to book yourself radio interviews, you traditionally get the best response from talk radio right? WRONG!

In this day and age, listeners are looking for more than all talk or all music. My clients are being booked on Country Radio, Hip Hop radio, and Alternative radio. (As well as Adult contemporary and talk)

Sometimes when you are doing a serious topic like 'living your life passion in order to find success', you may worry if one of those smart ass morning shows contacts you for a live interview.

This is what happened to Beverly last week. She called me to ask what she should do. I said don’t worry, they look harmless and encouraged her to book the interview. Then I waited. She just sent me this email:

Thank you for your advice the other day about doing the interview! In spite of feeling a fair amount of trepidation (especially after tuning into the show this morning and hearing the hosts lampoon a local citizen) I stepped up to the bat and the hosts couldn’t have been nicer. The interview went very well and it only happened because I trusted your advice.

You’re welcome to use this as an example with your class (tell them I said you ROCK).

Beverly

Whew, all that worry for nothing!
