Gene Simmons knows Publicity

What makes a great interview?

Gene Simmons, bass player for KISS, has a new show where he’s teaching 13 year olds how to become a rock band. ON today’s show, Gene took the new group to the radio station for their first interview. His advice was excellent.

A radio interview is a performance. Come prepared to ROCK! You are a performer when you do an interview. In radio, people judge every word you say and how you say it. This is the only thing they can gauge you on. Do they buy your book? Do they go to your website? Be a performer!

It doesn’t matter if it’s your 1st, 10th or 100th interview…you must perform like a pro every time.
He said a great interview is one in which the host has to interrupt you to ask a question.

So:
1. Be prepared
2. Know who you’re talking to
3. Perform like KISS (or Garth Brooks, or Frank Sinatra, or Tony Robbins, or….)

See You on The Radio!
