All last week on the radio, I was talking about a National Newsman coming to our City for the Opening of the BC Winter Games. Tony Parsons has done the 6 pm news for Global TV for the past 30 years and has the #2 Most viewed News program in North America.
My observations about the best news anchors on TV is they never show their upper teeth. You think I'm crazy? Watch TV and you'll notice that I am right. Peter Mansbridge, Dan Rather, Tony Parsons…they never show their teeth.
OK here's where the fun comes. I introduced Mr Parsons to 5000 people and he walks on stage and then hauls me back to the microphone. He had heard all about how I was razzing him about not showing his upper teeth….he then pulled out a set of teeth from his pocket and showed the crowd his teeth.
This stunt made the top story on our competition radio station, It made late night national news and has been the talk of the city.
Now that was some great Wayne Kelly PR!

PS Tony came on my show the following day and was a great sport and a very funny guy. Now that's a true pro!
