No more Handshakes in sports

Etiquette experts say it will seem rude, but Britain's Olympic athletes have been advised to avoid shaking hands with rivals and visiting dignitaries at the London Games this year.

The British Olympic Association is concerned about germs thwarting the host country's bid for glory.

The association's chief medical officer — Doctor Ian McCurdie –suggests strong personal hygiene could prove to be the difference between success and failure.

Now what about in schools. A couple of years ago, my son's basketball team didn't shake hands…instead they bumped elbows. Looked crazy to me. Wouldn't the germs be all over that basketball?

If anyone has any suggestions or thoughts on this subject, leave me a comment.
