The biggest problem I see when people often pitch being a guest on my radio show is they want to discuss a topic that isn't an issue our listeners are dealing with at the moment. If you are a therapist, psychologist, naturapath, relationship coach, or____________ , look to your clients to see what a hot topic could be. IF you see a few patients all having a similar problem…that could be a hot topic.
This morning 8 year old Emily was in the studio with her mom and she was suffering allergies for the first time. Poor little girl had itchy eyes…and off air we had a discussion about what do you do to treat children with season allergies?
That would be a hot topic. It's allergy season…so if you have some ways for us suffers to find relief, you simple need to send a simple media release to your local radio stations and chances are you'll get booked for an interview.
I actually sent an email to a local expert who can come on the show and discuss.
So the secret to having a media worthy topic is really not a secret at all.
Simply pay attention to what the people around you are talking about.
