Everyday on radio shows all over North America, the radio hosts are taking about fads and health news that matters to their audience. And believe me, in 2018 – health and diets matter BIG TIME!
If you are a Nutritionist or Registered Dietitian, media opportunities are EVERYWHERE for you and you don't even need to be the creator of the subject being discussed.
If you want to discuss a new study on the air – it's perfectly fair for you to send the article to the media along with your credentials and what you want to discuss in the interview.
Here's what that would look like:
Hi Wayne & Jayne
Carbs and Pasta's have been getting a very bad rap in the last couple of years as people try fad diets saying carbs are bad. But look at this great news article:
NEW STUDY SAYS PASTA CAN HELP WITH WEIGHT LOSS: Who knew dieting could be fun? According to a new study, published in BMJ Open journal, people can lose weight even when ingesting pasta. The study was meant to examine whether or not people gain weight by eating pasta but the results revealed that individuals including pasta as part of a low glycemic, or GI, diet, can still lose weight. The study served participants small servings (3.3 servings of a half cup) of pasta each week and at the end of the 12 week trial, each participant had lost a little more than a pound, on average. Julie Upton, R.D., co-found of Appetite For Health, suggests that if pasta must be included in a meal, it should be kept to one quarter lean protein, one half vegetables, and one quarter pasta.
