Too many people try to jam too much info in a media release. The key to a successful media release is tweaking our interest. You want producers to think, "Yeah, this could be an interesting topic for my listeners."
Here's an example of a short media release that caught my eye today.
####
Let's talk about whatchamacallits. You know, the doo-dads that
stick to the thingy on the side of the you-know-what when you're
trying to put a doohickey on a — whatchamacallit.
Mark McCrum is the co-author of "The Whatchamacallit: Those
Everyday Objects You Just Can’t Name". Mark says EVERYTHING has
a name — if you know it. For example: The little doohickey on
the end of shoelaces is actually called an "aglet," A "tittle" —
is the little dot above a letter "i" or "j".
Ask Mark for other examples. You'll be amazed at how superior
you feel when you know the proper name for — stuff.
