This past Sunday a big thing happened at the Grammy awards that
most people never noticed but was huge for radio dudes and dudettes
all over the planet:
Alicia Keys made a point of thanking radio. While accepting an
award for Best Female R&B Performance, she said, "I have to thank
… every DJ, every radio guy, every promotions guy, everybody who
ever put up a poster for me and spread the word."
Now why is this significant you ask? Well everyone in radio took
notice and we love her for it. So she will get more airplay and we
will always be nice to Alicia Keys.
That is the power of the 2 words–thank you. Make sure you always
follow up every media apprearance with a thank you note…even if
only by email…it makes a big difference!
