If you want to be a resource, you need to be following what the media is talking about. Yesterday I was on the CNN website when I found an article written by a 15 year old student talking about a new trend she seeing where girls post a pic or video online asking if they are "hot or not".
You can read the article at: http://inamerica.blogs.cnn.com/2012/03/04/opinion-hot-or-not/?hpt=hp_bn8
Having a 17-yr-old daughter and a 14-yr-old son, I found this very disturbing.
Isn’t this a sad day to find out kids are working on their self-esteem issues online. According to this article, for some teens it’s a big boost to their confidence, but for others it’s hell!
Radio can change lives and it can save lives. Maybe you could help these kids understand that their self-worth doesn’t come from strangers on the internet.
If you are able to discuss this topic, I know hundreds or radio stations would have you on. This is the serious side of radio interviews and I look forward to connecting with you soon!
Let’s help some kids.
