Can you become a story?
Stories sell. One of the great recent stories comes from Kyle McDonald who created the

Here was a man sitting at his desk when he decided to trade the one red paper clip from his desk for a house. Now, he didn’t get the house in the first trade, but a year after he started he received the house.
What makes this a great story is I had Kyle on my show when he started trading. Then I had him back when he was going to Yahk B.C. I also had the host of CBC’s The Hour, George Stroumboulopoulos, on at that time. I kept my listeners up-to-date with how he was doing.
Then LA Laws Corbin Bernsen got involved in the trades and I had him on as well.
When Kyle finally made the trade for a house, I was able to send him an email that morning and he was on my show within an hour of my request. The story has come full circle…or is there more?
He now has a book deal, and even a movie deal…and he’s already got the media wrapped around his finger! Now that's how you create a media buzz…be unique and become a story people can follow.
