1. The WORST thing a media guest can do
The absolute worst thing you can do, as a guest of ANY media, is to miss your interview time—Do this and you will never get booked again.
There is nothing worse than telling my radio listeners I have a great guest coming on that they do not want to miss…and then the guest misses the time…and the listeners feel as if they’ve been strung along for no reason…and I’m left scrambling to fill in with something else.
That almost happened to me last week.
Luckily the guest had taken my class and knew the steps to take to ensure we connected: She sent me her backup phone number! It turned out the phone company was having major problems so my guest’s office line rang busy.
If she hadn’t sent me the back up number I would have thought she was on the phone and was missing our call—an easy way to never get invited back on the Wayne and Jayne show…EVER!
2. November is…
…Another great month of Interview possibilities for authors and experts!
I always say you need to link your topic to something going on.
Here are few Monthly observances for November:
- National Diabetes Month
- Banana Pudding Lovers Month
- Diabetic Eye Disease
- Family Stories Month
- Lung Cancer awareness
- Military family appreciation
- National adoption month…tie this in with Celebrity adoption
- Alzheimer’s Disease
- National Pet Cancer awareness
I’ll have more great interview possibilities next week!
3. Featured Guest of the Week
What is one of the great benefits of getting the On-Air Newsletter? — By reading this newsletter you have an opportunity to get booked for my radio show.
Yes, last week I booked five guests for Halloween week!
On Wednesday I interviewed the Story Lady about scary dreams. We met because she is a reader of the on air Publicity newsletter. She followed my PR advice and ended up on my morning radio show. Listen to our Interview here:
