Learn from Taylor Swift

If you don’t know the name Taylor Swift, I’ll assume you don’t watch TV, don’t listen to radio and have never watched an award show. This 20-year-old Country Music star is unbelievable at connecting with her fans. In fact she has done such a great job connecting and making people talk about her that I have to be careful I don’t talk about her too much on the Wayne and Jayne Radio show…because she’s always making news.

The #1 thing I believe we can learn from Taylor is to not be afraid to let your fans see you as a real person. I love how Taylor will release a video of herself watching her acting debut on a show and she’s jumping around so excited about seeing herself on TV. She doesn’t care what critics think…she is happy to share herself with her fans.

Last week she had a teleconference with her fans to tell them about her new album. Imagine how special did these fans felt because she wanted to tell them first! You can bet every one of those 56,000 people will be buying her album the day it gets released.

So here’s what we can all learn from Taylor Swift:

Be a REAL person

Don’t worry about critics

Relate to your audience

Stretch and try something new; don’t let fear stop you, and

Surprise your fans or clients when they least expect it.

He’s Coming Back Again!

I always talk about the importance of never ‘just being a guest on a radio show’ but rather ‘becoming a resource’ and maybe even getting a weekly or monthly series. Well it has happened again on the Wayne and Jayne show where a guest is now coming back for a new series.

Here’s what happened.

Have you ever seen the Ghost Whisperer?

Mike Rowland, The Ghost Man, helps ghosts and spirits move on, without all the drama of Hollywood. And he does this from his home to anywhere in the world. He does a free assessment to see if there are any unwanted visitors in your house. So I took him up on his offer after the interview. He checked my house for ghosts…and it was clear. But the Program Director at my radio station has 5 Ghosts in her house!!! So my initial interview led us in a new direction as we follow the story about how The Ghost Man gets rid of these ghosts attached to the PD.
